Did You Know?
I-55 Managed Lane Project Public Hearing
In accordance with Section 15(h) of the Public-Private Partnerships for Transportation Act, the Illinois Department of Transportation (Department) invites you to a public hearing to learn more about its plans to explore the use of public-private partnerships as a way to design, build, finance, operate and/or maintain the I-55 Corridor from I-355 to I-90/94 in DuPage and Cook counties.
This is in follow-up to the Department's completion of the environmental study for the proposed improvement of I-55. The scope of work for this improvement consists of the addition of one managed lane in each direction within the existing median of I-55, drainage improvements, and installation of noise walls. The existing travel lanes along I-55 will remain free but the new managed lane is proposed to be tolled as an Express Toll Lane.
